Foundations in acting is a class for those who are eager to develop and strengthen their acting and performance skills. No experience is necessary. This class is a crucial starting point for anyone interested in pursuing a career in theatre, film, or television or for those who would like to build their confidence both socially or in public speaking. In addition to technical skills, foundations in acting classes emphasize the importance of emotional intelligence and self-awareness. Students learn how to tap into their own emotions and experiences to create authentic and compelling performances. Through exercises in improvisation, scene study, and monologue work, actors develop their ability to react truthfully in imaginary circumstances, a key component of believable acting. These classes often include diction, voice and movement training to ensure that actors can use their bodies and voices effectively as instruments of expression. This class provides a supportive environment where students can take risks and experiment without fear of judgment. The students work on technique through theatre games and exercises and work on an individually selected and adapted play which is performed at the school, free and open to all who wish to attend.
